Life Happens — Our Approach to Missed Classes

Between school schedules, travel, illness, and everyday family life, missing an occasional Quran class is normal. Because every class at our academy is one-on-one rather than a fixed group session, we have more flexibility than a typical classroom setting to help students make up lost time without falling behind.

How to Report a Missed Class

If a student knows in advance that they will miss a scheduled session, we ask that the family notify their teacher or our support team as early as possible, ideally at least a few hours before the class. This gives the teacher a chance to adjust their schedule and offer an alternative time slot rather than leaving the class marked as a no-show.

Makeup Class Eligibility

Missed classes reported with reasonable advance notice are generally eligible for a makeup session, scheduled at a time that works for both the student and the teacher within the same week or the following week, depending on availability. Because each student has a dedicated one-on-one teacher, makeup sessions are arranged directly between the family and the teacher rather than through a rigid group calendar.

What Happens With Late Cancellations or No-Shows

We understand that emergencies happen and try to be flexible, but classes cancelled with very short notice or missed without any notice at all are harder to reschedule, since the teacher's time for that slot has already been reserved. Repeated last-minute cancellations are handled on a case-by-case basis between the family and our support team.

Rescheduling a Recurring Time Slot

If a family needs to permanently change their regular class time, for example due to a new school schedule, we recommend reaching out to our support team so we can help find a new recurring slot with the same teacher whenever possible, keeping continuity in the student's learning.

Consistency is one of the biggest factors in how quickly a student progresses through Noorani Qaida, Tajweed, or Hifz. Our makeup policy exists specifically so that an occasional missed class does not turn into weeks of lost momentum, keeping the learning plan realistic for busy families.
